Edinburgh and London: William Blackwood and Sons, 1917. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. A very good copy which has been rebound in cream cloth lettered in gilt. All edges gilt. Marbled end-papers. A nice clean copy internally which is not foxed and has no ownership inscription or other marking. Pp.xiii,424 + 8pp publisher's adverts. Described as "a contemporary picture of the war" by a travel-writer who visited the various fronts and describes "things exactly as I saw them, from moment to moment--". A nice copy of a title which is uncommon in first edition.
