New York: Doubleday & Company, 1977. First Edition. Near Fine/Near Fine. First edition stated, first printing. Advance review copy with publisher's slip laid in, and scarce thus. Bound in publisher's tan leatherette binding with titles stamped in black on the spine. Near Fine with light foxing to textblock edge and endsheets, small abrasion to front free endpaper. In a Near Fine unclipped dust jacket with a subtle spine fade, trivial rubbing and light remainder stray to bottom edge. Served as the basis for the 2006 film directed by Richard Linklater.
Synopsis
A Scanner Darkly is a BSFA Award winning 1977 science fiction novel by Philip K. Dick. The semi-autobiographical story is set in a dystopian Orange County, California in the then-future of June 1994. It includes an extensive portrayal of drug culture and drug use.
