A reprint of humorous sketches originally printed by the Nova Scotia lawyer and legislator in various newspapers in the 1830s-40s. They feature an earthy "Yankee" fellow, Sam Slick, who speaks in dialect, often crudely but to the point, making fun of "upper crust" types and Englishmen. 263 pages plus 8 pages of publisher's ads at rear.
