New York: American Freinds of the Chinese People, 1935. 8.5x11 inch handbill mimeographed one side, paper toned, minor corner chipping. Announcement of a May 6th event in support of the Chinese Communist general (modern Pinyin Romanization Fang Zhimin) who had been captured by the KMT. Speakers listed include Haru Matsui (pseudonym of Ayako Ishigaki, the Japanese immigrant activist who opposed Japanese imperialism and went on to publish the noted memoir, "Restless Wave: A Life in Two Worlds"), T.Y. Yang of th Chinese Anti-Imperialist League, J.W. Phillips (pseudonym of Philip J. Jaffe), Ray A. Garcia of the Anti-Imperialist League, and S. Stroong of the I.L.D. Pleas such as this went unanswered; Fang was executed by the KMT in August 1935.
