London: Russ-Arts Limited, 1972. Shooting script for the 1972 film. Annotation in manuscript ink on the front wrapper, noting copy No. 72. 19 borderless photographs, including ten double weight, laid in.
Of the 19 photographs, 14 are reference shots from production, two are on-the-set candid photographs (one showing director Ken Russell, one showing Russell and Helen Mirren), and four portrait photographs from the film (one each of Mirren and Scott Antony, and two of Dorothy Tutin).
Based on the 1971 biography by H.S. Ede of French sculptor Henri Gaudier-Brzeska. A fictionalized account of the fervent relationship between Gaudier-Brzeska and Polish writer Sophie Brzeska, who was more than twice his age.
Shot on location in Somerset, Bristol, and Dorset, England.
Blue titled wrappers. Title page present, dated January 1972, noted as SHOOTING SCRIPT, with credits for screenwriter Christopher Logue and author H.S. Ede. 119 leaves, with last page of text numbered 103. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only, with pink revision pages dated 27th January '72, or undated, throughout. Pages Very Good plus, with light soiling overall, and soiling and foxing and edgewear to exposed edges of revision pages, wrapper Very Good plus, with some foxing and light soiling overall, bound internally with a prong binding.
Photographs: Ten double weight, three with a left or bottom margin, 8 x 10 inches. Nine single weight photographs, six 8 x 10 inches, three 7 x 10 inches. Photographs with light curling, else Near Fine.
