Scranton, PA: J. A. Clark, Publisher, 1875. First Edition. Hardcover. 236pp. Later blue cloth lettered in gold on the spine panel, original wrappers preserved. With twenty-three large, cabinet-size photographs by William H. Schurch. Originally published in parts, the work was supposed to include fifteen issues but only ten were published. Among the chapters included are Colonel Zebulon Butler in Command, The Pennamite War, The Ship-Building Era, Coal -- Its Origin and Formation, Colliery -- Incidents in and around Coal-Mines, Joseph H.
