About This Item
Paris: Baudry's European Library, 1845.. Old stain to lower edge of first few leaves, pencil notes on rear end papers, moderate edge wear, a very good copy. Perhaps the first Continental edition, though Galignani published an edition in Paris in the same year. The first novel in Cooper's "Littlepage Manuscripts" trilogy, which was written in reaction to the Anti-Rent War in upstate New York (1839-1845). BAL 3914, citing the UK first edition.
