London: The Bodley Head, 1953. First Edition. First Impression. Octavo (20.5cm); black cloth, with titles stamped in gilt on spine; dustjacket; [6],7-138,[2]pp; illus. Hint of a lean, decorative bookplate to front pastedown, with faint offsetting from jacket flap onto same, else very Near Fine and clean throughout. Dustjacket is clipped on both flaps, with trivial wear to extremities and gentle sunning to the white spine lettering; Near Fine. Handsome copy of Russell's first work of fiction, a collection of five stories written at the age of 80. Illustrated throughout by Asgeir Scott.
