A stunning coming of age story, capable of delighting and inspiring. At the end of "The Saskiad" author Brian Hall lists some of the books which had inspired young Saskia, his marvellous character. Three of them were already in my possession, and I ordered the others post-haste. Such was the connection I felt to this remarkable girl, that I wanted "her" influences to be my own.
