About This Item

Tulsa: n.p., 1965. Stiff card wraps. Near fine. Single pages 8½ by 11 bound into a tab card folder. English and Spanish on opposite pages. The English is clearly a typescript, with typing indentations obvious on the reverse of the pages, and impression of cloth typewriter ribbon on the obverse. The Pagination is (8) plus 165 English, 165 Spanish, (1,, giving the total at about 329, allowing for the right page introduction. Printed on one side of the paper only. The proposed date is taken from a xerox copy in OCLC with a manuscript date on the title page.

This the recension of the manuscript in the Thomas Gilcreasae Institute of American History and Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Strout's translation facing. It recounts the expedition, under Capt. Juan Hurtado, of resettlement of Santa Fe after the Pueblo Revolt of 1680 and the agreement between De Vargas, Reconqueror of New Mexico, and Hurtado. The expedition finally left Zacatecas in 1695.
