About This Item
SANITARY BAND. SANITARY MEASURES TO STOP THE CHOLERA EPIDEMIC. Is one of the strict sanitary measures taken to stop the epidemic coming from la Havana, Cuba, issued by D. José Manso y Sola, Commander of the Royal and Military Order of St. Louis of France, dated May 23, 1833, with the signature of José Manso.
"When the salvation, not only of Cadiz and Andalusia, but of all Spain, depends on the fulfillment of what has been ordered by His Majesty in the sanitary aspect, it is not enough to be vigilant but inexorable. This Municipal Health Board has received an order from the Superior Board of Andalusia, dated the 14th of this month, in which, supported by the preceding clauses, it is entrusted with the responsibility of renewing the publication of the penalties established against violators of the Health Laws. In order to ensure compliance and avoid excuses of ignorance due to their dispersion, and even criticism of their severity for not being known with sufficient advance notice, it has been decided to compile them in the following 19 articles and circulate them to all the towns included in its district or sanitary territory."). The measures imposed throughout the nineteen articles are extremely severe.
