Very Good. <p>The Second International Conference on Sandwich Constructions was held at the University of Florida, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Mechanics & Engineering Science, Gainesville, Florida, USA on March 9-12, l992. <p>Analytical and experimental research in composites has been ongoing in this Department for many years, mainly among colleagues in the Center for Advanced Composites. However, until recently the work focused on long and short fiber composites, rather than on sandwich construction. The First International Conference on Sandwich Construction was held at the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, June 19-22, 1989. The intention was to create a forum for the exchange of technology and foster a deeper understanding of the unique properties and potential of sandwich design. This Second International Conference has fulfilled the intentions expressed at the close of the First Conference by presenting detailed and carefully modeled higher order theories of sandwich behavior under a variety of load, the development of specialized materials, new adhesive materials with application and a wide variety of testing/evaluating the behavior of sandwich "laminates. New applications for sandwich materials were presented in Gainesville for bullet trains, naval warships, advanced aircraft, residential construction and shipping containers.
