Quarto, xiv, 510pp, [advertisements xlv pp]. Purple cloth, beveled board edges. Title and illustrations stamped in gilt on spine and front cover. Top edge gilt. Professionally restored, spine reglued and hinges reinforced, headcap repaired, cosmetic touch ups to cloth, new endpapers. Slight bow to back cover with fore edge lightly bumped. Occasional mild foxing to text pages, otherwise clean. Complete with frontispiece portrait of the author, numerous in-text illustrations and 8 brightly colored full-page plates with tissue covers. (Heckscher 1150) An attractive example of this important work on salmon flies.
