Melkite Catholic prayer book from the publishing wing of the Saint Paul Fathers in Harissa, Lebanon. llustrated with 10 full-page reproductions, diverse in style, including frontispiece; vignettes. Illustrations include the Annunciation, the Assumption; St. Thérèse and her mother, receiving her father's blessing, scattering roses, at the time of her death; and the Crucifixion. The plentiful selection of prayers include the Nicene Creed, Morning and Evening Prayers, Acts of Faith, Hope, Love, Prayer to one's Patron Saint, Prayer to one's Guardian Angel; Prayers during Mass, before Communion; Hymns to Mary, to the Holy Ghost, by St. Thérèse; the Litany of Loretto, Litany to St. Thérèse of Lisieux with Novena; the Salve Regina, the Angelus, etc.; and the Psalter of the B.V.M. of St. Bonaventure. Text in Arabic. An exceedingly crisp copy of this illustrated Melkite Greek Catholic Prayer Book, under the Patronage of St. Thérèse of Lisieux and Our Lady of the Assumption, published in Lebanon six years after the Little Flower's canonization and printed entirely in Arabic. A fascinating piece of modern Eastern Catholic history. Rare.
