New York 1850 first edition. John S Taylor. Frontis engraved portrait of Headley. 6 steel engraved plates of views in the Holy Land (with tissue guards.) Grey cloth with full gilt decoration on both cover panels. Gilt spine lettering. Light foxing throughout. Binding secure. Spine ends frayed. One cover tip worn somewhat. Hinges not cracked in or out; gilt is bright. All edges gilt. Good. no owner marks. .
