Louis XVI, King of France was the final French monarch, crowned in June of 1775. Author Thomas Pichon commemorated the event with an impressive, beautiful book filled with French history, biographical sketches of notable French kings, and illustrated scenes of the coronation. These 32 engravings provide an excellent portrayal of costumes and architecture that were common amongst French courts in the 18th-century.
This book is known to be highly valuable and desirable! It was printed and distributed to a SELECT few with the royal arms of Louis XVI embossed into the leather.
