About This Item

Montreal: Palm Publishers, 1968. First Canadian . Hardcover. Good+/Fair. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. 6 volumes. Volume 1: x, 421pp. (1968); Volume 2: vi, 427pp. (1968); Volume 3: vi, 433pp. (1969); Volume 4: vi, 426pp. (1969); Volume 5: vi, 438pp. (1970); Volume 6: vi, 423pp. (1970). Volumes uniformly bound, all with dust-jackets. The volumes themselves are certainly attractive and in sound bindings. Minor wear to cloth. Light soiling in a few places on edges of pages, mainly to lower edges near corners of pages. A previous owner's information in ink to first two endpapers of volume 2, along with minor, unobtrusive pencil and pen to just a small number of pages. Mild tanning to paper. Minor creasing to just a few leaves. Price-clipped dust-jackets admit to general light to medium wear, light soiling, along with a number of short tears and small chips. Overall, this remains a nice, clean, sound and attractive copy. This printing is less common than the Herder and Burns editions
