Final double issue of the important late-Soviet underground literary and arts-related samizdat journal, published 1987-1989 by Aleksandr Serzhant (born 1953) and Vladimir Linderman (born 1958) in Riga, Latvia. "Tret'ia modernizatsiia" was one of the few journals to devote itself primarily to postmodernist and conceptualist tendencies in contemporary Russian culture, publishing concrete poetry, found poetry, experimental prose, and 'sots art'. The contents of this volume include poems by Gennady Aigi, Dmitrii Prigov, Ivan Akhmet'ev, Elena Shvarts, prose by Arkadii Bartov, Valeria Narbikovaia, Igor' Levshin, Gennadii Katsov, Arkadii Dragomoshchenko as well as Ludwig Wittgenstein. Also reproduced are eleven artworks by Prigov.

A total of 12 issues of the journal were published, with nos. 1-10 appearing in typescript and the a final typographically printed double issue. Although primarily a literary journal, the editors did not shy away from political content and one of the journal issues was confiscated in its entirety by the KGB. Vladimir Linderman was also arrested several times and questioned about the publication. Other prominent members of the unofficial or nonconformist art and literary scene published in other issues of the journal include Elena Shvarts, Gennadii Aigi, Lev Rubinshtein, and Vsevolod Nekrasov.
