Tall quarto, No. 69 of a deluxe edition of 225, xxix, 36, 1 (limitation page), purple calf boards with gilt lettering to spine, blind-stamped abstract pattern on front, signed frontispiece drawing by Gordon Ross, other plates by Ross, all illustrations hand-colored. A fine-press reissue of Gay's 1720 work on the outdoor sports. Condition of this book Boards discolored by sun exposure with a bit of wear at extremities, preliminary leaves age-toned, all else fine. Special Limited Edition, first issue in this format. Size: Quarto. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting.
