This is a history of the controversial Royal Ulster Constabulary, the Northern Ireland police force, from its formation in 1922 when it replaced the Royal Irish Constabulary, up to the 1980s; during the troubles of the 1960s, it became the most dangerous police force in the world in which to serve, with 250 member killed and 8,000 injured as a result of terrorist violence; includes photographs (black covers with silver lettering, corners very slightly bumped, pages tanned; black pictorial dust jacket with color photo of RUC members at a banned Loyalist march in 1986 has very slight edgewear; otherwise a bright, clean, tight copy)
