London: Macmillan, 1898. First edition. Hardcover. Very good condition. This edition of the Rubaiyat is dedicated to the members of the Omar Khayyam Club". Each page is printed with two quatrains and with very wide black & white Art Nouveau borders illustrated by William Brown MacDougall. MacDougall (1868 - 1936) was a Scottish book illustrator, engraver and artist.
4to, unpaginated [43pp], title page printed in black and orange. Green gilt sateen boards with large gilt Art Nouveau decoration to the front board and gilt decoration and title at spine. Previous owner inscription at ffep, F. Heron-Maxwell from JSHM, Jan. 1899". Potter 3, MacDougall Edition (p3). OCLC: 8463165.
