A comprehensive and detailed horticultural dictionary, complete with illustrations and the additional supplemental volume. This is the second edition of this work from the Royal Horticultural society, including the 1956 illustrated volumes I to IV, with continuous pagination, and volume V, the later 1969 supplementary volume. The editors preface to volume V identifies that the first supplementary volume was published in 1956, with the aim of being 'revised and reissued from time to time apart from the main work'.A comprehensive reference work, identifying, in alphabetical order, every plant suitable for cultivation in the British Isles, both outdoors and under glass. In addition, notes on many tropical and subtropical plants are included. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Boards are bright, with minor fading to back strip of first four vols. Minor shelf wear to spine tails. Light marks to pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
