Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, Inc, 1928. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. A bittersweet bouquet to the glory of the Great White Way, portraying the off-stage melodrama of the Cavendish clan, a dynasty of acting giants. The play premiered on Broadway at the Selwyn Theatre on December 28, 1927 and ran for 345 performances, closing in October 1928. Noel Coward directed the West End version in 1934 and 2001, Peter Hall directed a revival featuring Dame Judi Dench. Octavo: 280 p. Original purple cloth binding, with printed orange paper title labels. Faint discoloration to the spine head. In an especially nice dust jacket, with some mild toning and just a small bit of edgewear; otherwise very good.
