In all 71 units of the 318 formed in Georgia were documented, the latest ca. 1950. These volumes covered the Infantry regiments numbered 1-66. Approximately 75,000 names are included. This set has been out of print for several years, but we have now reprinted it. Our edition also includes an index to all Georgia soldiers including those not found in Henderson's roster - some 274,000 names in all. We have also added additional notes over the years including first names for those with only initials in the original records. We have also added a historical sketch of each unit listing the battles they participated in and a bibliography of sources for further research. SAMPLE OF THE KINDS OF INFORMATION FOUND IN THE ROSTERS: Purvis, Daniel- private March 4, 1862. Wounded in leg at 2d Manassas, Va. August 28, 1862. Pension records show he left command at Petersburg, Va. on 30 days' furlough February 1865. Could not reach command before close of war. (Born in Ga. January 27, 1841. Died in Irwin County, Ga. in 1920.)
