About This Item
Mass-market Bantam pbk. edition from the 1970s. The pages are a bit yellowed, but this is still a quite readable copy, intact and no underlining to text. The real attraction of this series, in any case, is the William Edwards cover art. Some minor soiling and slight rippling, a bit of creasing at edges, and a crease down spine, name of a former owner in marker written along top of text block. The accompanying photo is of the actual copy.
Synopsis
Hermann Hesse's fourth novel, a moving and poetic narrative of immense power, makes its first appearance in Britain in this superlative translation by Ralph Manheim.
