Inscribed by co-author John Fleming to Rudy Meltzer, maitre d'hotel of the the famed society restuarant Maisonette in the St. Regis Hotel, and of the hotel's Roof Garden: "To Rudy Meltzer from his friend John F. Fleming. Jan' 11, 1960." Laid in is a note to Melzer from Lucy Newton. Massive and fascinating biography of the "Napoleon of Booksellers." Required reading for booksellers and book collectors.
