About This Item

Old Bailey & Derby: Bemrose & Sons Ltd Six volumes of this rare series. Each volume has unillustrated text, but is proceeded by pages of advertisements which are illustrated, small square octavo, original printed boards, the contents clean, but the boards rather chipped and frayed; two volumes have detached upper covers. Each volumje has a portrait frontispiece of a notable rose grower - these are small oval portraits and appear to be original photographs. The bindings are almost certainly designed by Worthington G. Smith. [A rare series which was first published in 1885 and probably ended in 1901. Shortly after that, the Rose Annual commenced in 1907.]. First Edition. Boards. Fair.
