In the course of their history the may seem to present an anomaly in the type of environmental setting considered favorable for the developemnt of civilizations. Whereas a number of the more prominent of the world's high cultures have matured in an environment characterized by proximity to large quantiles of surface water and by dry climate, the Classic Maya lowlands lacked both of the apparent benefits. Condition: Spine and edges sunned, corners gently bumped else very good.
