New York: The Macmillan Co,, 1914. SCARCE in the First Edition, 1914. Near Fine, cloth lightly rubbed at the cornes, prior owner name stamp to paste downs. Basis for the 1920 D.W. Griffith Productions film and the 1930 movie of the same name starring Greta Garbo in her second talking picture. The play was first produced in New York in 1913, and the London production in 1915 ran for 1,049 performances. Both of those productions featured Doris Keane as an opera star who has an intense affair with a young clergyman. . First Edition. Cloth. Near Fine/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
