Very Good. 29.5 x 26 x 3.5cm. profusely illustrated Catalogue for the John Cage show 'Rolywholyover A Circus', September 12 - November 28 1993 Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles (and touring venues in USA and Japan) - one of Cage's final projects prior to his death in 1992, conceived of as a combination of static works transformed into a dynamic non-static composition; the catalogue takes the form of a reflective steel box, with printed lid, containing 50 odd printed items in colour and b&w, in booklets, concertinas, on card, transparent paper, etc, and including works by Cage (music, text works, visual art) and other artists and thinkers who were fundamental to Cage's development, such as Ryman, M.C Richards, Jawlensky, Gorky, Fanny Schoening, Jasper Johns, Rauschenberg, Tobey, Buckminster Fuller, and more; all items in box Fine, box itself shows some (inevitable) scratches, prominent to underside.
