Two Volumes printed in 1842, mid 19th century books part of a series, Volume 1 is 192 pages and covers subjects like water, hydraulics, dam building, evaporation and more, some illustrations. Volume 2 is 192 pages and covers, air, flying, ballooning, burning, gravity and more. Original brown blind stamped cloth boards with floral motif on all boards, spine has gilt ornamentation and titles, random wear and fraying at head and heel of spine heavier at head, corners bumped and worn through, edge wear and fading to boards, bindings very sound and No previous owner bookplate or writing. Books are 6.75 inches in height by4.25 inches in width. Very presentable 172 year old set of books. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall.
