About This Item
New York: Viking Press, 1936. 1st ed. Hardcover. Very Good. Angelo, Valenti. 1st ptg. Newbery winner, illustrated in blue gray ink by Valenti Angelo. Lucinda's year in New York City circa 1890. While her family went to Europe, she and her roller skates stayed home and explored the neighborhood. Slightly cocked, small marks of white out on front free endpaper, apparently covering inked names or price, slight wear to bottom corners, otherwise a very nice copy in chipped and price-clipped dj, no medallion on dj.

I thought it would be a happy-go-lucky book about way back when, but I was surprised by how many dark topics, like murder and death are in it.
