Frontis (not as listed a portrait but titled "Festivities in Sherwood Forest" and "Presented Gratis with No.1 of the Author's Large Edition published by W.S. Johnson" + titlepage by W.H. Thwaites engraved by John Wall +36 further large illustrations.. Large octavo 255x161mm near contemporary green pebbled cloth spine gilt lettered direct (tips slightly rubbed) all edges dyed red [x]pp prelims +280pp BOUND from the 35 PARTS and printed in double columns. A neat tight copy with only a few isolated foxing marks and first two + last leaf slightly dusty. Ownership Henry Buckley, New Brighton entered in pencil to front free end paper.
