Indianapolis, Indiana: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1945. Book. Illus. by Lawrence Dresser. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Bumped spine ends and a stamp on the front free endpaper: Property of / Camp Becket / Becket, Massachusetts. There is also a previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown endpaper. The jacket has some rubbing wear and wear to the spine ends and corners and is price-clipped. Protected now in a Mylar archival sleeve. 187 pages with silhouette illustrations by Lawrence Dresser. Other titles in the series, listed by author, are found on the pages preceding the half-title page, some with check marks. Author Marguerite Henry (1902-1997) was later best known for her horse books for children and was awarded the Newbery Medal and numerous other awards. Several of her books were adapted to film..
