UK,8vo HB minus dw/dj,1st edn.[Though undated,originally and first published October,1949.Printed in Great Britain by The Anchor Press, Ltd.,Tiptree, Essex.] VG+.No owner inscrptn per se,but thus: faint pencilled 'initials(?) with date Xmas 1949 John' to the title page and further - assumed bookseller's(?) pencilled annotation of 10/49 to top edge of front free endpaper - which would correspond with known published date from other varied sources.Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered,publisher's original plain black,undecorated cloth boards covers with original blocked gilt letters slightly dulled/oxidised but still legible to spine/backstrip; with negligible shelf-wear,bumping,creasing, soft bumping with reciprocal creasing to both head+foot of spine - but no nicks,tears,splits or fraying present.Bright,crisp,clean 'Geographia' regional colour map+key (South Western Europe 1789) illustrated front endpapers,rear eps plain white and both solid and sound without any tears,splits or cracking.Top edges with slight toning and faint,sporadic dust-soiling flecks,fore-edges brighter with mild thumbing and minimal, faint,sporadic foxing/spotting; contents bright,tight,clean,solid and sound - text body virtually foxing-free - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corners,appears unread - apart from my own collation.UK, 8vo HB,minus dw/dj,5-432pp [paginated] includes contents list/table.
