About This Item

Philadelphia: The John C. Winston Co., 1894. [1894] Hardcover, illustrated binding, beautifully illustrated endpapers, frontispiece, black and white illustrations throughout, 217 pages with six pages of advertising for other juvenile books at end. THIS IS NOT A RECENT REPRINT. IT IS THE ACTUAL, SCARCE 1894 EDITION. Condition: Binding lightly age toned/faint soiling (darker at spine); light shelf wear including corners; spine lightly frayed at top/bottom. Edges lightly age toned. Internally: Small, insignificant tear to foot of first pastedown endpaper (not affecting the beautiful, full color pictorial endpapers); faint, old erased bookseller notes on back (recto) of frontispiece; else overall Very Good. Free of cracks and tear to binding. Free of bookplates, stickers, writing in text (so common in juvenile books), and torn pages. A wonderful, rough-and-tough juvenile story mostly for boys -- a great detective-oriented story (Detective Blowitz). The author, born in Geneva, Ashtabula County, OH, wrote many adventure novels, biographies, and textbooks using numerous pen names. Righting the Wrong is one of his best detective stories for boys. Scarce. Collectible. Note: We are a well-established, well-respected, ethical book dealer in business since 1991. We describe the condition of our books thoroughly and honestly, so you'll know exactly what you will be receiving when you order. We ship promptly. . Hard Cover. Very Good.

About R. Siedlecki Vintage Books

We are a well-established, well-respected dealer that is professional, honest, and ethical in our business dealings. We tend to describe each book in a reserved, conservative manner, rather than oversell a book or sidestep the responsibility of addressing its flaws. Book club editions and library books along with books without dustjackets (if they came with dustjackets) are pointed out in our descriptions. We describe our books in detail, pointing out the precise condition of each book based on our opinion. It's your assurance that the book we describe is as close as possible to the book you’ll receive. In business since 1991, we typically have five-star ratings on major web sites.
