The binding is firm, however the title page and the next page have been accidentally dogeared, and the spine section of the binding is darkened by handling. "This second edition comes by request from the Echuca Historical Society. In a way, I have come back to the study of the rivers reluctantly as my time is rather fully occupied as Principle of a High School, in which position I now enter my 60th year. The wide interest in the river story has been impressive to me; I still receive letters from all over the Commonwealth on this made me realise the need to re-print, enlarge and revise.
