Pp. 176, 73 text-figures, 35 full photo and half-tones plates, 6 are large folding. Publishers original dark blue cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, front and rear boards with blind-stamped border lines, lg 4to. The pelycosaurs are a group of synapsids that had direct ancestral links to the Mammalia, having differentiated teeth and a developing hard palate. From the research collection of paleontologist Lauren E. Brown with his signature on the front endpaper.
