About This Item

Le Caire, Société Entomologique d'Égypte, 1929. 4to (29.0 x 19.8 cm). 176 pp.; seven fine, lithographed plates, of which four in chromolithography, with explanatory text leaves. Not bound, as issued. = Rare paper by the British entomologist Walter Francis Innes (1858-1937), here named Dr. Walter Innes Bey. It contains detailed descriptions and fine illustrations of grasshoppers. Published in the society's Mémoires, beingthe complete volume 3 part 2. The first part of this work, exclusively on on mantids and blattids, was published much earlier, in 1912. This copy was never bound. We do not know if it was issued with wrappers. Uncut. Very short tear and light creasing in the lower left corner of the half-title and title, otherwise an excellent, clean and unmarked copy. Not in Nissen.
