New York: Grosset & Dunlap 1915. (Hardcover) 365pp. Very good plus in very good dust jacket. Printed c1927. Red cloth with black lettering on the cover and spine. Illustrations, 25 titles in advertisement at the back. The dust jacket is chipped and edgeworn with an inch-long chip out of the top and the bottom of the spine, an inch-long closed tear to the front panel, a diagonal closed tear to the back panel, and a previous owner's name and date on the front endpapers. "Tarzan, a white child of noble lineage brought up to manhood by a tribe of gigantic anthropoid apes and becoming, by virtue of his fighting ability and superior cunning, King of the Tribe and Master of the Jungle! 'The Return of Tarzan' is a sequel to 'Tarzan of the Apes.' It deals in its opening chapters with the young giant of the jungle in civilization, meeting wherever he goes with adventures as strange and thrilling as those of his boyhood in the primeval forest" - from the dustjacket. Synopsis
The Return of Tarzan is Edgar Rice Burroughs' second novel in the series starring the man raised by apes, and the story picks up where Tarzan of the Apes left off. Tarzan finds himself back in the coastal jungle of his upbringing after being thrown off a ship by his deadly enemies.
