About This Item
New York: Farrar Straus & Giroux, 1992. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. This is a stated first edition. The interior of the book is crisp and clean. There is a gift inscription to a former owner on the title page, but these are the only marks. The grey and black covers are fresh, with just a touch of wear at tips and corners. The silver gilt spine lettering is still bright. The dust jacket is price-clipped, but is otherwise in Very Good conditiion, with minor wear to the top and bottom of the spine. A lovely copy of this picture book on the early days of aviation. Synopsis: Freddy LeGrand ends his transatlantic flight somewhere in the French countryside. he is rescued by Sophie and Albert, farmers who reveal a down-to-earth flair for aerodynamics.
