(text): viii, 379; 154 with 23 plates and other illustrations, 12 large folding maps and charts (many maps are in color); pp. (atlas): (4), with 46 full page photo-plates (many are large and folding panoramic plates with linen-backings). Text: publisher's original three-quarter dark brown morocco leather, spine lettered in gilt, over red marbled boards with matching marbled endpapers and page edges, lg 8vo; Atlas: publisher's original three quarter tan sheep leather with red and black morocco spine labels, over red marbled boards, oblong lg 8vo. All three volumes were issued by the 54th Congress, 1st Session, Senate, Document 137, Part 1 - Text (in 2 volumes) and Part 2 - Atlas (in 1 volume). The atlas volume presents photos of several rookeries on two of the Bering Sea islands which document the methods for killing fur-seals. The text volumes present the distribution, life history and harvesting of the fur-seals of the Pribilof Islands. Name stamp of Jno S. Witmer on front blank endpaper of both text volumes, ink stamp on front endpaper of the atlas volume "Afognak, Alaska, Received June 26, 1910."
