Binding: Recent full cloth preserving original blue wrappers; spine flat with two black morocco title labels. , Notes: Report on evidence taken concerning the ‘Licence to Trade’ held by the Hudson’s Bay Company over Indian Territories within British Possessions in Western Canada, which had been granted by British authority for the period of 1838-1859 was ending. A decision was needed on whether or not to extend such an agreement with the Company into the future, whether this would serve the best interests of the Indian population and other Canadians, whether or not the territories ought to be utilized in other ways, incl. by others than the HBC.
