Bound in the publishers illustrated paper covered hard boards this is the first impression of the first edition of another one of Edward Goreys weird and wonderful tales. All pages are present and correct and are tightly bound. Gift inscription to dedication page. No foxing or marks to the pages having been well protected by the boards over the years. Book sits solid and square with all corners sharp. Light shelfwear to bottom edge of boards. Profusely and painstakingly illustrated throughout by the author. An attractive book inside and out. Housed in the matching wraparound Edward Gorey illustrated dustwrapper which has been neatly priceclipped. Overall light wear and signs of handling. The dustwrapper is slightly dusty. Photographs of the book and the dustwrapper are available on request. A presentable copy of another one of Edward Goreys weird and wonderful tales. Has been carefully looked after and rather well preserved over time. Full of the strange and exquisite drawings that are his trademark and that only he alone was capable of. Stated first printing.
