London: Cassell and Company Ltd, 1944. Good. FIRST EDITION. 8vo, pp. 226 + 196 b/w images. Beige cloth, black lettering to spine. Grubby boards, lean to spine, bruising to extremities. Pencil notes to pastedowns, POI to ffep, front edges of first three gatherings showing indentation and rust shadows from paperclips (now removed). Else, clean and bright, particularly the images. Good+ The first in Colson's set of textbooks on the rehabilitation of the injured (Remedial Gymnastics followed in 1947), it covers a range of activities to aid recovery and promote remedial exercise, including weaving, gardening and domestic work. Colson wrote it for the dual readerships of surgeons and therapists, with ample illustrations for guidance.
