Redwings Horse Sanctuary was founded in 1984 to rescue horses, ponies, donkeys and mules from neglect and slaughter and provide them with a caring home for the rest of their days.Daily, they care for over 1,000 horses and through their network of welfare officers they regularly investigate cases of cruelty and neglect around the country.Where they can, they offer advice and assistance, but in some cases rescue is the only answer.Once rescued they nurse them back to health and provide them with a permanent loving home. They never sell them. At Redwings they have a fully equipped veterinary unit and full time veterinary staff so that the horses receive the best care available. The horses run free in natural surroundings.
