REDI Francesco – Bacco In Toscana. Ditirambo di Francesco Redi Accademico della Crusca con le Annotazioni – 1685. In Firenze, per Piero Matini all’Insegna del Lion d’Oro. Late eighteenth-century half vellum with gilded titles on a label applied to the spine, paper with floral decoration on the boards; octavo, 20.5 cm; pp. (2b) (8) 46 (2) 264 (2b); first and last pages reinforced in the inner margin, some pages a little short in the upper margin but without any lacks of the text, strip of ancient paper applied to the last page under the end to cover an old handwritten annotation. Half-title, (as often, missing the copper engraved frontispiece), title page in red and black with the emblem of the 'Accademia della Crusca' engraved on copper, small heads, initials and endings engraved on wood, change of numbering between the dithyramb and the annotations, text also in italics. The famous and most famous work of Redi, here in its first edition
