An excellent copy of the first edition, first impression of this collection of five short mystery stories by famed Detective fiction writer Raymond Chandler. In the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper.Included in this work are the short stories: 'Red Wind', 'Blackmailers Don't Shoot', 'I'll Be Waiting', 'Goldfish', and 'Guns at Cyrano's'. This collection of short stories were previously published in the periodicals 'Dime Detective', 'Black Mask', and 'The Saturday Evening Post' in the 1930s. They showcase Chandler's abilities as a writer, including vivid characters, tight plotlines, and evil villains. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with bump to spine tail. Loss to tail of dust wrapper back strip and front wrap, with a significant closed tear to the tail of the rear wrap. Edgewear and closed tears to head of front wrap, with handling marks and discolouration to rear wrap. Light chipping to back strip head. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned due to paper type, as is common in this work, but clean. Very Good Indeed
