About This Item
New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1908. Book. Fair. Decorated Boards. 1st Edition. 24mo - over 5 - 5¾" tall. First separate publication of a novelette that initially appeared in 'A House Party: An Account of the Stories Told at a Gathering of Famous American Authors,' published by Small, Maynard & Company in 1901. A much-read copy that is still intact, but also one that would not benefit from rough handling. Floral decoration to front cover, red lettering, top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, 71 pages. Some edgewear, chipping to spine ends, bumped bottom corners, previous owner's name/date to bottom of first end paper, split between first end paper/title page, text block pulling away from same, handling wear..
