About This Item
New York: The New York Herald Company, 1910. Disbound. Poor. Issued between 2 October and 27 November of 1910, these eight-page issues are the first appearance of H. Rider Haggard's novel RED EVE, later published in 1911 by Hodder & Stoughton and Grosset & Dunlap. The first 9 issues are included; the final 3 are missing. Includes full-color illustrations on the cover pages of each issue, as well as large and detailed black-and-white illustrations throughout, not found in any other edition or publication. Most pages are torn and ripped near the edges, and the set is extremely fragile. The first issue in particular suffers from some chips and tears affecting text and images, though all text and images are complete except the corner of "The" in The New York Herald; likewise, text and images are complete throughout the set. 72pp. total. Inquiries welcome.
